Slow Restore

Thread needs solution

Win Vista...1 TB HD...450 GB of data

On occassion I have had to recreate the partition on my hard drive and resotre the full image. This has taken 19 hours, on average. I do not check the "verify" option, or I am guessing it would take double the time.

Any tips on why it takes so long? Or is this typical?

I had the same issue when I once had to restore. It took several hours and the "estimated time" on the progress bar was far from accurate. Going from 5mins to 40000 days, back down to 20 mins and then 12 days. Throughout the whole 12+ hrs it took to do the restore, the estimated time was never reliable.

It restored fine, though. Just that it's taking several times longer than when I create full images.

The ballpark time is 1 to 2 min per Gb so you're just outside of the longest time. Is your Backup located on an internal or external drive?
