SnapApi driver update will not install getting error

Thread needs solution

I am getting the following error when trying to update the SnapApi drivers to fix my issues with my Patriot XT 16GB usb thumb drive.

"The installation was interrupted before Acronis Drivers could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."

Is there a workaround or fix for this. I have already tried rebooting and running the install multiple times.

Thanks,

Hi
What about removing all USB devices before you try to install & install in SAFE mode?

Pete

I can try installing this in SafeMode and see if that works. I didn't have any usb drives attached during the install and I was able to install the VirtualDiskSetup.msi without issues. SnapApi for some reason just keeps giving that error.

I will update the results of a SafeMode install attempt.

Thanks

Additionally I was going to say I tried a couple different versions of the SnapApi zip file available for download and both failed with the same error but will give the SafeMode effort a shot.

Encountered same problem as others reported with some USB flash drives this week. Found Acronis knowledge base article for fix (http://kb.acronis.com/content/26062). But got error when trying to install SnapAPISetup.msi

"The installation was interrupted before Acronis Drivers could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again." [No help.]

Cannot install msi's in Safe mode (Windows Installer Service not available). Finally tried running SnapAPISetup.msi in compatibility mode. It worked!
