software WILL NOT recover files.
I had a full backup by MaxBlast. I did a restore. It took 15 hours, but finally finished. However, the software WILL NOT recover any incremenal backup. After calculating for a few minutes, the dialog box just closes and nothing is done. HOW DO I RECOVER AN INCREMENTAL BACKUP? My backups are 8-10 gig in size so I know something is there datawise.
This software needs serious attention. I can't believe i swapped to this from MaxBlast 5 a free version that kicked the hell out ofthis.

Are you trying to recover a file backup or a disk & partition backup?
Which software are you using to recover the MaxBlast backup? ATI 2012?
Can you validate the backup?
Can you double click on the archives?
Are you trying to recover from an intermediary incremental or the last incremental?

Ok, using MAXBLAST5, I created a full image backup on 7/1/11. On 9/8/11, I bought ATI2012. I did about 7 or 8 incrementals since then all to the MAXBLAST5 original backup.
After accidentally deleting a folder and unable to retrieve:
I effectively restored the 7/1/11 MAXBLAST5 image using ATI2012. This took 15 hours for about 400gig. Then I went on to try and restore the incrementals.
Why can't I restore the incrementals? They start validating, show a calculating message, but suddenly the dialog box will just close before anything is done. Last nite, the message stated 3hrs and 6 mins to restore, then suddenly I thought I saw a full green status bar indicating 100% and it closed the dialog box. The update was not complete as I checked for my files.
I want to recover all the incrementals. What should I do?

Actually trying to restore everything that back to original using incrementals.

I suspect the problem is that the incrementals are on top of an image created by an older version, but I am not sure.

Funnything I have 5 different disks that were backed up by MAXBLAST. I was able to read and restore each of those. The only ones I can't are the incrementals created by ATI2012.
I wonder what happened to Maxblast that made it go downhill like that.
Looking for backup software if anyone knows of a really good one. Its got to be dependable. Another option is shadowing.

The archives produced by MaxBlast are probably fine. If you upgrade to 2012 and let 2012 create incrementals on top of MaxBlast-created archives, you could introduce problems. This is supposed to work though...
When I upgrade, update, I typically start new tasks.
