Software won't load at boot!!!!
Hello everybody.
This is my first post so, first and foremost a big hello and thanks for all the great posts, which provide great help to some of us who are less fortunate.
My problem with this software is just one.
When booting up my PC and, either by pressing F11 or by booting it by CD-Rom the software starts but then comes to a halt and fails to boot with no error of any kind.
I have inclusively, left the system alone a whole night and in the morning it was still loading the software at no signs of success.
I was using this software "2009" which I genuinely purchased online on my normal pc with windows XP but since I have now bought a laptop with windows 7 home premium, I am now using it on this one and so, this is what happens now.
I must say that this problem was not the case on my PC running XP, it would boot normally just by pressing F11 and also by using the CD-Rom.
One more thing, it does however, work fine under Windows 7 home premium environment.
Any help on this is well appreciated.
Cheers,
Albert, C

I'm having the same problem with a fresh install of windoze xp on my computer. Replaced hard drive, so I used upgrade tool that came with the new drive (seagate 500gb sata). It cloned the old drive to the new one, and it worked fine. It boots windows and works. I then installed ATI 2010 on windows as normal. I used it to make a Full C: backup set to 3 DVDs, like I always do. I then had ATI make a bootable CD for recovery. But, when I try to boot from the ATI bootable Cd, it does boot, but when it tries to start ATI, it gives the following error message: it says something about "st", then "floppy" (there is no floppy on this machine) then it says: ERROR: pdc error reading /dev/sda/(input output error).
This makes no sense at all because the computer boots up fine into windows from this new drive? It is the only drive connected.
The bios is set to boot from the CD/DVD drive, then the hard drive. Like I said, it does boot to the ATI bootable recovery CD, it's just that ATI tries to start, and then gives the error?
If I can't boot into ATI bootable CD, then how am I supposed to be able to do a Recovery from DVDs if this drive fails?
Help!!!!!

T.W, are you saying that before installing the new drive, the rescue CD could and would boot the PC with no problems?
You mention a fresh install of XP, then go on to say you cloned the drive, which of course won't be a fresh install.
Was the old drive a Sata one?
Have you tried any of the things I suggested to Albert to try, such as using the SAFE mode of the CD, checking your BIOS settings etc?
