[Solved] How to backup a 3 disc RAID0 config
I have a server with a 3 disc RAID0 configuration. I would like to change it to a RAID1 so I need to make a backup of the current config. As I understand it, I cannot just perform a normal backup. Can someone please enlighten me as to how to create this backup.
I have Acronis TIH 2015 and 2014. Does it matter what version I use?
I have a Dell T310 PowerEdge server with a PERC 6/i adapter. I have 1 open HDD slot and a spare HDD. The HDD's are 500G so total HDD is 1.5T
I appreciate any help.

Thanks Steve. So as long as I boot my server from my Acronis Bootable disc (normal operation), the backup that is made will be correct, capable of being restored to a single disc (without the RAID config.) Did I understand that correctly?

Chuck, assuming that all the RAID configuration is done at a hardware / BIOS level on the server, then ATI doesn't really care or know that this is not a single disk system being backed up or restored.

Steve. I should be golden then. I am about to backup my server now. I will let you know.

I'm up and running. I restored the image to a new HDD, removed the 3 original HDD's and plugged in the new one. It came up with an error (because old config no longer existed.). I had to create a new Virtual HD. Once I did, it came up.
An interesting, non RAID related issue is that I am getting a security error when I try to launch Open Manage. Not sure why this would have changed from the original. I had to change the Internet security options but all is well now. Thanks.

How do I mark this issue as resolved?

Chuck, always glad to read of success. To mark the topic as resolved, go back to the very first post for the topic and you shoud see an option to edit the Title 'How to backup a 3 disc RAID0 config' where you can add [Solved] to the beginning of the Title.

Thanks Steve. That is bizarre. I can't believe that the site doens't have that feature. I can see how most people will not know how to mark an issue resolved. Oh well. Thanks again.
