Something has changed
I have reloaded an XP (o/s) computer from scratch.
As is usual it is necessary to try and determinine what is expected for the o/s and the application.
While playing with TIH 2011; TIH displayed a link to allow the date, time and other data to be added to the file name.
For some reason or other that link is no longer presenting.
While playing with TIH 2011, TIH 2011 has removed this link.
Acronis has its head IN THE SAND.
STOP removing ITEMS that some "stupid" software programmer thinks will help my situation.
The SOFTWARE INDUSTRY is so paranoid about making software work for the masses that it hasn't figured HOW TO MAKE SOFTWARE WORK for the MASSES that it SCREWS UP HOW SOFTWARE SHOULD WORK for individulals thave a brain in their head.
WHY????????????????????????: has this link DISAPPEARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As an owner of TIH 2010 & 2011 I expect better.
The software was purchased after the Seagate fiasco of the 7200.11 drives of which after the purchase of three 500 Gb hard drives failed and a replacement drive failed at about 3 weeks for a failure rate of 133%.
Enter Acronis. We purchased TIH 2010 and despite issues and that fact that acronis seems not willing to update 2101 past v7046 and just recently has recalled 2011 V6574.
My wife disagrees with my tone in the previous email. She is really angry that I have taken a really hard line and I will not geta a response because of it.
My take is that current the group of hardware and software manufacturers cares little of the customers and is selling "SMOKE" in order to prop up the bottom line and that customers are nothing more than a place of ongoing revenue.
While I managed to get TIH 2010 working despite error messages from the program that a backup failed when it had NOT, I had hoped that 2011 would do better.
I NEED 2011 to do what I want, STOP poofing links and provide a manual, despite of its ver 200 pages allows a person to search on how to append a date and time to files as it did in TIH 2010.
Buying 2011 was probably a mistake.
First: Respond to the first post.
Second: Prove me wrong!

Thanks for the reply Grover,
I have extensive experience with software and I guess I am loosing my patience with manufacturers on CLARITY when manuals are written.
When I first logged into TIH 2011 near where you enter the name of the file to be stored there was a link, an if you clicked on the link you could append the date and time and other as you did in TIH 2010.
The link NOW does not show.
I WANT THAT LINK BACK!!!!!!

Just to clarify, I own TIH 2010 and TIH 2011, sorry for my broken fingers on program names.
All backups that I have are manual backups OUTSIDE of TIH. I do not have time for this which is why TIH was purchased.
I seem not to be able to automate backups with TIH 2011 and set my naming convention the way I want and the way TIH 2011 says the program is capable and as of now TIH 2011 is worse than TIH 2010.

Richard,
The only reference to adding date & time to the file name in the 2011 user manual is on page 39 which is the attachment shown in my first post. Most certainly, this feature in 2011 differs from the 2010 version--which has what you describe.
You probably have a better chance of getting your suggestion read if you post it in the wish list section. As not all posts are read, there is no guarantee that your suggestion here will be read by support.
You may not be aware that the most recent build was released and then recalled. The new build has better features (they work) as compared to the current 5519 build. A new build is expected to be released very soon but not sure how soon.
Can you explain in more detail what you are wanting to achieve for automation of backups--which the program will not allow you to do. Maybe there are some workarounds.
Added:
You can always add the time and time manually where you are expecting the hot button
