the specified file does not exist

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis True Image Universal Restore Enterprise Server to back up an full image of an SBS 2003 server accross a network to an external usb hard-drive which is shared out from a PC. Everything was working fine for several months but now the backups have started to stall with an error - 'the specified file does not exist'. This happens maybe about once a week, and the rest of the week the backups run OK. The backups are set to run at night, and when I see this error in the morning I click on 'retry' and the backup continues normally.

Please can you suggest how to resolve this issue. Thanks.

Hello PCoyne!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad you joined us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.

First of all I would advise you to update SnapAPI drivers, responsible for accessing hard drive and creating a snapshot. I will forward you the instructions via PM in a minute, please, let me know whether something seems confusing.

Also please kindly enable "Silent mode" in Additional Settings section in Backup Creation Wizard. (2. Do not show messages and dialogs while processing (“silent” mode) option). See chapter 6.3.11 p.78 in the User's Guide.

This should resolve the issue faced.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
