Specified File Does Not Exist

Thread needs solution

True Image Home 2010 Product
I have read the comments on this forum under this Title and I obviously need some clarification.
After doing a successful full image backup of my computer with a Vista OS, using True Image Home 2009, I upgraded to Windows 7 and installed True Image Home 2010. Now when I try to do a new full image backup, I get this Error message "Specified File Does Not Exist". I have read that this means that some source file or folder has been erased and since it cannot be found, the operation stops. But, as far as I know, this only applies to a specified task that has predetermined files to backup. I am just doing the backup on the fly, not using a predefined task. So I don't understand what is happening here or how to correct it.

Can someone help?

Thanks
Dick

Hmmm. It is interesting that no-one, especially from Acronis, has the cajones to reply to this issue. I wonder how I can get my money back???

Dick-

Unfortunately, your problem description is so vague and general that is quite difficult for anyone to understand, let alone help you out based on the information provided.

OK, fair criticism if you haven't experienced the issue. Here is more detail:
I upgraded a HP desktop from Vista to Win 7. Both 64 bit. I upgraded Acronis TI from Home 2009 to Home 2010. After all installations, I proceeded to create a full image of the new configuration. In detail, I created a new Folder on the External HD that I use for backups. That folder was named "J:\Win7 Archive". The file I named "System_C.tib" With me so far? Ok, then the path to the archived image was: "J:\Win 7 Archive\System_C.tib"

After a very few minutes ( the full backup would have taken 35-45 minutes based on past experience) the backup stopped and I received a message box with "Specified file does not exist". The message box had an option to browse for the file or Cancel. If I browsed for the file, a Windows Explorer type of screen popped up with the file named in a selection box. BUT THE FILE NAME WAS CHANGED!!!. It was now "J:\Win 7 Archive\System_C1.tib(1)"
No wonder the software could not find it.

So after three hours chatting with support today (I wish they would permit phones) I still have the problem, I have been asked to do a scan of the computer with an app they sent me, to try to dig out a bunch of data that might shed some light on the issue. But in short, IMO, the program has some bug in it, they are clueless as to what is going on and I probably will never resolve this one.

Anyone have an idea now?

Dick
