Thread needs solution

I was running a normal scheduled backup to an external hard drive and got this failure message.  I have backed up to this same external hard drive as the original source since installing True Image 2015 and have had no troubles since.  Not sure what to do to get the backup working again.  Any advice?

It could be the metadata database has somehow gotten corrupted.  You can try the information in the following link, which will keep your old backups in tact, but require you to recreate a new task if you use the "task zap" command first.

Otherwise, I'd recommend creating a new task anyway and letting the backup start anew (your old backup files can still be used for recovery though).  Once corruption has occured, better to start fresh to be on the safe side unless you have no option to continue using the old one.

From personal experience, I'd also recommend that you consider taking a full offline backup from time to time (I do one weekly of my OS) as that is the recommended method from Acronis and the most reliant as it completely rules out any issues that can be introduced by Windows, third party apps, etc.  Don't put all your backup "eggs" in one basket so to speak - better to have an extra backup to be on the safe side if your data is truly important to you.
