Specify location of version problem

Thread needs solution

I backup my HDD tib file to a network external USB HDD using incremental backup with auto clean up. When click on "Recover last version" it says "Specify location of version 4". I navigated to the latest backup which is the 4th version (3rd incremental backup). That brings up a recovery window which is blank. So I try again and it asks for the location of version 3, which I give it. I get the blank recovery window again, so I try again and give it the location of version 2. Now it works and I get a recvery window with HDD to recover.

But this is a tightrope act for if I choose the wrong backup at any point I can't recover. Besides I should not be prompted for version locations anyway, the external HDD is never disconnected. Is this problem going to be fixed or is there anything I can do to stop this? It has happened on another PC also.

Matt,

This typically happens when ATI loses track of backups. This happens when the user edits the backup "too much", or change the location of TIB files, or rename them using Windows Explorer, etc.
Avoid editing the backup tasks; it is better to create a new one with a new name; editing core settings like backup name, destination, backup scheme is often creating problems. Editing the schedule and validation options is fine.
