Splitting my backup drive

Thread needs solution

I have about 300gb of data to back up on my computer and was thinking of using a 1TB drive and doing both an image of the entire drive in case of a drive failure plus a full/incremental backup of files in case something is accidentally lost.

The question is, can I do that on one drive, or do I need to split the backup drive. And also, is it a waste of time to have both?

Thanks.

Hello Avi,

Let me answer your question.

You can keep several backup files (i.e. full backup and the chain of subsequent incremental archives) on the same drive.

In your case I may recommend you to create a single full backup archive and several incrementals, there's no need to have 2 full backups, it'll be just a waste of time and drive space.

Please let me know if you need any additional assistance, I'll be glad to help.

Thank you.
