Spurious message with Online Backup function "less than 148 285 To" - Folders saved despite being not selected
I am testing the free offer for Online Backup within ATIH2012.
First, a bubble appears above the system tray saying (approximately, this is a translation from French):
Acronis True Ihage Home - The available storage space is less than 148 285 To. Please consider suppressing unecessary files from your online storage or increasing your quota.
This bubble cannot be shut by clicking the upper right cross.
What is more annoying is that when the ATIH windows is active, yhe bubble steals the focus from the main windows.
Other problem: To minimize the duration of my tests I have chosen My Documents but I have specifically deselected all the subfolders before the first run, leaving only the stand-alone files selected. In spite of that the Online backup function has copied the whole contents of My Documents, therfore increasing hugely the resources needed to run the archive (time and online disc space).
Am I alone to experience such problems?
TIA

Pat,
Thank you for the tip. By creating a completely new Online backup targeting a specific folder, I could create a backup task which is not spreading any more to the whole My Documents folder. However the spurious message is still there.
But there are other problems: the gauge in the system tray remains stuck to 0% during the whole process which is very, very lengthy, the spurious message is still there and only disappears after many, many minutes, if you want to exit the task it becomes unresponsive...
If you want to reduce the online storage by suppressing several files and folders, only one of these is deleted each time whatever the number you selected and it takes several minutes for that.
On the whole this feature did not give me any confidence because I do not feel to have a reliable control on it. I would expect that only from a beta version. However I tried a restore operation on some flles and I was able to download the intended files.
Good luck to the other (beta) testers!
:)
