SQL-Database Online Backup?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I would like to know, if it's possible or does it make sense, to backup SQL-Databases online?
My Database is about 3 GB and the Internet-Uploadspeed is 192kBit.
It's possible for me to upload the initial Backup with 10 MBit. That's no Problem, but what about the rest?
Daily Backup of the "changed" Database-pieces? Or what is going to be backupped, when
something is changed in the Database?
(Sorry for my bad English)

Best Regards

Hello Michael_Cologne,

Let me shed some light on your concern.

Since there is no Volume Snapshot Service (VSS) support in Acronis True Image Home 2010, it is strongly recommended to use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 to create a backup of a system with any VSS-compliant databases running in it.

When you creating a backup using Acronis Online Backup Service, you're making a file-level backup, so Acronis doesn't use a snapshot of the drive in this case. So you need to stop the database during the backup process that may take a lot of time, otherwise the database might become corrupted after the restoration.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
