SSD clone to SSD in a USB Tray - TI2015 B6525 - can't identify USB drives even though windows 7 can

I run TI2015 from within windows 7 and tell it to clone an internal ssd to a USB ssd and it sees both drives. When it restarts it waits and says 1 or more removable drives have not started up (the external USB).

I tried to run TI2015 from the Bootable media rescue DVD that I created and when selecting the source drive it finds my internal SSD - when selecting the destination drive it only finds internal mounted drives - no external USB drives are seem to select from.

WIndows does recognize all these external drives and driver is up to date.
