Starting Acronis Loader...f=
Hi - a newbie here. I have an image on an external disc that I want to recover to a new hard drive that I have installed on my HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium. So I start Acronis True Image 2014 Premium and select my external backup. I wait and wait while Acronis identifies the image and I select the destination as the 'E' drive (which shows empty on the properties but for some reason Acronis shows that it has something on it - anyhoo) and hit the 'recover' button. I wait and wait until Acronis tells me that I have to do a reboot. No problem, close all applications and hit restart. That's when I get the "Starting Acronis Loader...f=" and hangs up. Am I supposed to put a value there? What would the value be? And won't Acronis just simply copy the image from the external hard drive to the new internal hard drive? I've used an earlier version of True Image in the past and have never had any problems when I've wanted to upgrade my main drive from an image. I would simply take out my 'E' drive, slip in the new hard drive and select it as the destination for the image to go to after formatting and assigning the drive letter. Is there a hiccup with the 2014 version? And yes, I have checked for updates and I've got the latest installed.

Hey shadowsports - so I created a Boot CD as you suggested from Image 2014 and used that to boot the computer. All that happened after it booted up and I clicked on True Image 2014 was to give me a message that "Acronis True Image has not found any hard disk drive" and then hung up and I couldn't do anything. I had to do a hard boot and change the BIOS back to a hard drive start up to get the machine going again. I still get the "...f=" thingy happening. Let me know what info you need to help resolve this. Thanks.

Ok - anybody out there that can help me? Lots of views and it seems that shadowsports has taken an extended hiatus. Really would like to get my computer back.

Sorry, end of the month, and a short one at that. I have a day job (GRIN) and food coma yesterday. Last few days have been busy for me.
If Acronis is unable to detect your drive, its likely that the Boot CD / environment doesn't have the storage controller drivers needed to detect your disk(s). This is not uncommon, but I'm not clear why your current version is unable to detect your disks. Care to share what kind of hardware it is? RAID controller or ? HP laptop, right?
Otherwise, creating a BartPE or WinPE disk that has your controller drivers should resolve. You have both options since you own Acronis Premium. Check out Sec 9. Page 167 of the users guide for more info.
