Startup Recovery manager - missing configuration file stops bootup

Thread needs solution

I have activated the Acronis Startup Recovery manager and normally see the brief "Press F11" message before Windows (7 Professional 64 bit) launches. I have now had two instances where the system fails to progress beyond loading the BIOS and I get a message about the Acronis configuration file being missing. I then have to put in the recovery disc and reactivate Acronis Startup Recovery manager - which presumably generates a new configuration file and the system will then boot into Windows. This is becoming annoying - having software designed to help when boot problems arise - actually causing boot problems!

Any ideas on how to prevent this happening again please?

What version/build of ATIH are you using?

How was ASR originally enabled on the disk?

Within the program, Tools , Utilities menu or from a Boot CD?

Shadowsports - sorry for the delay in replying - got called away.

The build is 6673. I believe (not sure) ASR was originally initiated from the software CD. Last time I had the problem I tried that again but got a message saying the necessary files were only on the recovery disc - so had to put that in.
