Stopping Repetitive Backup Attempts

Thread needs solution

I typically only want to try backing up once, or maybe twice, if a backup fails for some reason. Despite several settings to do that, TI 2015 will keep trying every 10 minutes until I manually stop the process. Since I get notified on an unsuccessful run this is very annoying. In the Error Handling section I've tried "Do not show messages and dialogs while processing (silent mode)", which according to support should help, but doesn't. I also tried either setting "Repeat attempt if a backup fails" off, or to 1, but it still re-tries every 10 minutes. Does anyone know how to get it to only try once (fine with me) or maybe twice, and stop this from re-trying every 10 minutes?

You might use this schedule manager to list all your scripts (including any hidden ones) to see if have tasks running which are not visible to you.

I have no idea. But.. Is this behave connected with another boring reaction of True Image 2015? When I want to 'Shut down' the system. Acronis tells me that it has to finish an action (I don't know which) and will fulfil the Shut down after approximately 2 minutes. This happens after the installation and 1 update of True Immage 2015. What helps against it?

GroverH: I could do that, but it's not easy to always recreate a failure. But I should point out that this is not isolated to once instance of TI 2015. We have numerous ones throughout our office environment and every one of them does the same thing. It's as if TI 2015 doesn't honor the criteria in error handling, and I don't know how to get that to work correctly. What should be the normal way of getting it to not repeat on errors in backups? I myself have TI 2011 and it works just fine in this area, but not TI 2015. - Joel

Joel,
I have no good answer. Maybe contact LiveChat and discuss. If you can get them to agree it is an Acronis problem, they will refund your support fee.

Another option might be to delete the entire contents of the Database folder(or rename the folder)
c:\programdata\acrons\trueimagehome\database

The deletion will cause all new tasks to be created by user.
