Strange files in source disk C: after cloning to disk1

Thread needs solution

I cloned my Disk 0 to Disk 1 using Acronis True Image 2009. It apparently proceeded successfully but on checking something on the C: partition (Disk 0), I noted a whole series of files which had an odd suffix and which I cannot open; all with .lnkxxxxxx. They are mostly .jpg or .txt files. For example:

C:\0163.txt.lnk7q401
C:\0165.jpg.lnk30401
C:\0167.jpg.lnkro432
C:\0174.jpg.lnke9432
C:\0175.jpg.lnk5z435
C:\0176.jpg.lnky4576
But also include shortcuts or files to start a program like:
C:\lnkxxx files from C\CanoScan Toolbox 5.0.lnk5z277

So far I have not been able to find any information on this suffix and the origin of the files, which appear be duplicates of normally named ones and which still function.

Is this an Acronis problem or Windows XP OS problem??
What caused this during cloning???

All the .lnkxxxxx files have been placed in one folder on C: (source disk). The ones with names apparently can be found in their original location and can be used.

I was considering upgrading to Acronis 2014, but not until I get an answer to this !!!!
