Strategy of multiple backup hard drives

We have a strategy on each PC of rotating 4 or 5 hard drives per month (1 per week). There are two problems with this. If we want to change something we cannot edit the Scheme once the backup has been made, even on a very simple backup that is full with no clean-up. Second, ATIH2014 seems to want the same drive every time. We have turned off Add Backup | Auto Search at start up. We would like to hear ways that we use this strategy of multiple backup drives on the same PC or alternatives. Thank you/Howard
