Software: Acronis True Image 2015
Build number: 6525

i managed to run the full backup of my laptop to an external harddisk for a few weeks. However, I encountered a problem when I tried to re-run the backup after skipping the process for a few week.

Problem: stuck at "calculating time remaining" loop before the actual backup started for more than 8 hours.

I am not sure what is the problem and what can I do to troubleshoot. There is no sign of error. My portable harddisk is working because I can still access and view the previous backup files in it.

Please help.

Sorry I can't help you but wanted to add that I too am having a similar problem. It takes up to 3 minutes in calculating backup time for a file that is only 21.2 mg. When it starts it takes only a few seconds. I have been using Acronis 2010 with no problems but version 2015 has this problem. Hope someone has a solution. I posted this problem earlier but never got a response so hope you are more fortunate. I screwed up an allowed my 30 day free support to expire so have been living with the problem rather than pay $ for support, at least for now.

I am having the same problem. I recently bought Acronis backup 2015 (build 6525). All my backups (to an internal backup drive) hang at "calculating the time remaining." Apparently other people have had this problem for many years.

Does Acronis have a solution?

If not, I will delete this problem and demand a refund.
