The subkey cannot be found.

Thread needs solution

I needed to reinstall True Image 2013.
During the installation it halted with the message, "An error occurred while installing True Image 2013"

Issue description (in box)
"The subkey cannot be found"

History:

This is the third time I have had to uninstall True Image 2013 and reinstall. This problem did not happen in previous re-installations. The problem began when I purchased, via DL, True Image 2014 after having used 2013 for about one year with no problems. This version would not work on my computer, OS Win 7 Home Deluxe. I secured a refund and removed 2014 and re-installed 2013. Within a month a serious problem occurred. When shutting down my computer, I get the blue screen with a message saying, to effect, the computer was running programs and the computer would be shut down when the process was completed". The computer never shut down. That message remained on overnight.

I forced a hard shut-down and rebooted. I went online to check on the issue and discovered many people had the same problem and it was related to True Image 2014. Apparently 2014 had not been completely cleaned off my computer. I used Revo Uninstaller PLUS the built-in uninstall to clean all Acronis software from my computer. I then reinstalled 2013. Everything worked fine for several months. Then the exact same problem reoccurred. I went through the same procedure again and, after reinstalling 2013, it again worked fine until yesterday, 3-4-14, when I tried to shut down my computer and that same message popped up and hung up the shutdown. This time, when I went through the clean-up and re-installation, 2013 would not re-install. It hung up and gave me the message, "The subkey cannot be found".

Don,

Please use the Acronis Clean Up Utility to remove the product, restart and reinstall the latest build for the version you own from your Acronis dot com user acct.

Follow these instructions Completely

Dear Venkata,

In order to help you we need to know more details. Can you please explain what exactly happens on the machine of the second user? How exactly it is not working? Can you please provide some screenshots?
