Subscriptions- how to find out about a new build.

Thread needs solution

A few years ago you could subscribe to email notifications about new builds of Acronis software that you had registered.

The idea being that when there was a new release you knew about it. This was more about new builds than new versions.

The subscription never worked though, despite Acronis saying that they would fix it. In the old forum this was often discussed.

I cant see this option under subscriptions in my account any more on the Acronis site.

Have Acronis given up telling paying customers about new builds of their software?

Do I really have to log into my Acronis account every week to find out if any of the bugs have been fixed in a new build?

Check for updates included in the 2011 version. Check in the upper right corner in the info and about area.

Thanks GroverH. I have set it to automatically check for updates at startup.
I hope now that there will be a new build real soon.

I personally prefer to do my own checking via posts on the forum. I want to handle my upgrades myself so I can be sure and have a current full disk backups before any upgrade occurs.

So, when I see there is an upgrade, I visit my registration site and do the downloads. Then I make sure I have a current backup before the upgrade is initiated.

I agree, I want to do the upgrades myself. I dont trust Acronis to automaticaly upgrade my computer.
I take 2 backups and validate them before even thinking about installing a new Acronis build.

I think that the users here in the forums do an excellent job of reporting their experiences with new builds.

It still shocks me though how little testing Acronis do on their software. My experience over the years makes me believe is that they issue new builds with little or no testing. I wonder if we will get a new build of ATI 2011 now that Acronis are working on ATI 2012.

I also wonder what backup software Acronis use on their computers to safe keep their programs and data.
