Successful image shows in Windows Explorer, but not in TI browser
I am using True Image 2011 on this machine.
There have been some strange occurrences with some recent TIF backups. I create backup images weekly, to provide good protection against problerms et al. This system has 4 hard drives, C, D, E, and F. I alternate storing images on E and F. I do not want to be at the mercy of a single backup drive/folder in such instances.
This psat week, when I went to restore an image, after some serious system problems, I looked at the TIF files on the E drive in my file manager, and chose a recent one I wanted to use. But when I loaded TI, that recent file was not shown in the file listing that came up in the TI browser window! So I then looked in Windows Explorer, and it also showed there. And the TIF file had been "successfully created" some weeks back. So I settled on using an older TIF file on the E drive for my restore. This showed both on my file manager, and the TI file browser which came up.
After restoring my system C drive, I then went through all the Windows XP updates, and other program updates. When I finished doing that, I created a new image on the same drive that the just used image was on. When that image was successfully completed, it again showed in my file manager. But when I went into the TI browser, it did not show there.
So I loaded TI, and redid another image, and saved it to the F drive. It came up with a message that it was succesfully completed. And it did show in the file listings on that drive in my file manager, and also now showed in the TI Browser.
What I cannot fathom is how an image can be successfully created, display in my file manager, and Windows Explorer, but not show in the TI browser. Apparently all the TIF files on the E drive, prior to several weeks ago, also show in the TI browser. But any files created since several weeks ago do not display in the TI browser.
The E drive appears to be functioning perfectly normally. They are properly shown in my browser, but are they hidden, or corrupt such that they don't display for TI's browser. At first I thought that my TI install had gone bad, but it does do its job properly if another storage drive is called for.
Anyone have any dieas what is happening?
VERY STRANGE
