Switched from Mac to PC. How do I make a bootable copy of my Primary drive (system and apps)?

This process is easily done on Mac with Super Duper.
I would like to know the PC equivalent. I would need to make bootable copy to external hard drive.

With TrueImage 2012 you can select a parameter when you set the task up to have a bootable copy.

There are other options depending on what you want, you can clone a drive, but with this there is no opportunity to have incremental or differential backups, with a clone the destination disk will be an exact replica of your source drive and can be just plugged straight into your PC replacing the current drive.

Alternatively you can activate the Acronis Start Up manager which allows you to select an image file to be restored at boot time by pressing the F11 button whilst booting the PC. Note thought this removes any F11 button actions the PC manufacturer may have installed to access their tools.

So if I want to a backup & restore for my C drive to an external USB 3 hard drive (for use to restore the C drive if it is damaged / crashes), Acronis TI 12 will be able to do this for me?

Yes, that's exactly what I do. I make full disk backups of my system to an external USB hard drive. After booting from the Acronis recovery media (either CD-R or USB), I can restore any of my backups to return my system to exactly how it was at the date and time the backup was created.
