Switching to External Hard Drive With TI8

Thread needs solution

I have been happily using ATI 8 for years. It has saved my computer from big problems several times. I have only used the internal hard drive with a Secure Zone for backups but now it is getting kind of full. I am thinking of buying an external HD. My questions are these: Is it just as easy to make an image on the external as on the internal using ATI 8? Also, if I use an external HD and the internal one breaks, will I still be able to use my computer?
Thanks,
Tim

The one problem you might run into with the external and TI8 is when you come to use the bootable CD of TI8 to do a Recovery. The CD may not see the external drive and you may have to buy whatever is the latest version of TI.

So test this CD asap.

If the internal drive breaks you will not be able to use the computer until you install a new internal and restore the Image from the external to the new drive. Which is why you need to know that the bootable CD will see your external before the need arises.
