Sync with WD EX4 NAS
I specifically bought this software because the EX4 has an Acronis app in it. The Acronis software doesn't see the NAS (it sees shares of course) and I don't see a way to configure the NAS for a sync.

Thank you for your answer. By "does not see NAS" I mean if you click on NAS Devices, nothing is listed. Hence, it does not see the NAS. It's a shame local sync has been removed, that's specifically why I bought the software. I don't need Cloud sync, in fact I specifically *do not* want it. Well, time to see if I can get a refund.

Are you talking about not seeing the NAS under NAS Connections when you browse with True Image?
ATI only supports NDAS devices in this section, which is rarely supported. There is no intrinsic advantage to use one access protocol vs another in theory, so why are you worried about using CIFS/SMB shares?

If a customer sees "NAS" in the list of places to backup and their NAS doesn't show up there then the customer is going to assume something is wrong. It's poor UX design.
Regardless, I'm no longer using the software as the feature I most needed was removed, local sync.

As did Mike, I saw NAS in the list, and expected my WD EX2 to be there. Given the amount of time I've spent on troubleshooting this, I'm more than just a little peeved. A very poor design indeed!

Did you try selecting Other Computers that should appear just above the NAS selection and waiting for the list of attached devices to populate, this can take awhile?
