Synchronization to remote hard-drive not possible

Thread needs solution

Unfortunately I'm not able to synchronize to a remote hard-drive connected by USB.

My USB-drive is directly connected to my Linksys E4200 router. The storage medium is correctly installed and can be accessed by means of a network address (like 192.168.x.y). Therefore I mapped this address as a local drive (letter S:).
It is absolutely no problem to create a backup task that uses this drive S:
When I try to create a synchronization task using also drive S: (the mapped network-connection), the connection is tested. This also works perfectly.
But when TrueImage wants to generate and start the synchronization nothing happens. Also the dialogue that closes when a synchronization task is successfully generated stays there.

Does somebody know a solution to this? Thanks for your help in advance!

What happens if you click on the 'start' icon, does it attempt to start and then stop or just do nothing at all?

See if you get a different result using the sys tray icon, I've found sometimes if the GUI buttons don't respond the systray does.

Hi Colin,

when I click on the start button, TrueImage tries to start the synchronization. Sometimes I also see an new entry in the task list (with purple color edge) - but after a while the task stops, the entry disappears and the GUI remains in the configuration dialogue.
I also tried to use the systray icon - but while creating the synchronization task there is no systray icon.

By the way: thanks for your answer and your help!

Timo,

Check to see if the sync service is still running, there have been reports of it suddenly stopping, it also sometimes seems to take about 5 minutes before anything happens occasionally.

Are you running W7? The icon might be in the hidden list.

I just reread your post and see you mapped the drive, I'm wondering if that could be the problem with the sync, try using the UNC path, with images FTp is also a possibility, not sure if that'd work with the sync function though.

Hi Colin,
as long as TrueImage tries to synchronize there is a systray-icon visible. But this icon disappears when TrueImage stops synchronization.
I also tried the UNC-path - with the same result. By the way: even if the drive is mapped, TrueImage uses the UNC-path in his folder-box!
I did not try the ftp-approach yet - I will do this immediately. But this would be "bad" solution because it would decrease the synchro-speed tremedously!

Have you found a solution on this ?
I am also having issues by synchronizing a PC folder with a fiolder on my NAS mapped on the same PC.
The sync starts, it analyzes bith locations, creates a /.sync/ directory, but folders and files are not copied and synced ...

Same problem here. AH creates the sync relation between the local folder and the synced NAS folder, mentions that the folders are synced, but no files or folders are copied.

There is an error message that my Acronis subscription has ended, but is a subscription to the online service needed to do syncs to local NAS?
