Syncronisation questions

Thread needs solution

I would like, insead of back up, to have a second copy of my system disk. The first stage is pretty clear: just clone system disk to the other drive.
The second seem to be a little more triky. I would like True Image to reflect all the changes on the system disk to thr clone so that they are always identical. It does not have to be in real time, once a day would be just fine. The reason for the whole thing is, in case of failure of system disk just reboot from the clone, intead of stupid recovery procedure.
It seems to me that neither syncronisation noe back up utilities of the True Image do not do it. May be I am wrong in this and it can be done? Than, how. If not, what program con do it - I mean update changes on the system disk including system files.
Please help.
Boris.

Boris,

Cloning always has to be done manually.

Where the disk with the OS is to be cloned, it is always better to do that from the recovery CD so that Windows has no say in the process whatsoever.

Cloning a disk is available in the Windows version under the Tools and Utilities tab.

Hello,

My problem is different: the syncronize option doesn't work because I gave a false email address. This is the message I receive instead of beginning a new synchonization when I try do it.

It is very strange because I have a free access to my Acronis account, particularly if I proceed through TI2012. How can I resolve that?

Excuse my poor English: I'm French...

Regards.

Thanks Colin. The cloning portion is more or less clear. But it is just does not seems to be practical to clone every day - there are not many changes in one day. So, the goal is to change only files that had been changed on the original drive so that it can be done fast and automatic - something like viceversa. The problem with viceversa is the same system files.

@Boris,

There is no way to perform an incremental clone. The nearest you can get would be to either clone once a month for example and then either have a another spare drive or an extra partition which holds a full and differential image.

You have to have one full and then as many differentials as you require.

The best way of setting that up would be to create an extra partition on your main drive which is empty to hold the one full plus differential, then clone that structure. Make a task that points to the empty partition on your cloned drive and image you updated contents to that.

You'll obviously need large enough space in the second partition, which would be about a 70% of your OS partition size + 5% for differentials.

@Jacques

As you've discovered you need to use the same email address as the one your account is registered to. Does the istall show up under the settings option in your account?
