Hi,

Does Acronis True Image Home Support a 'Synthetic Full' Backups style method?

At the moment I have set up incrementals forever and these will keep going until I run out of space. I'm interested in rolling the incrementals in to the original Full backup after a certain period of time, without taking a new Full backup.

E.g. Roll Day 15th's incrementals in to the original Full Backup and keep rolling in effect having a Full Backup that is 2 weeks old and incrementals since then?

Can something similar be configured in the Consolidation settings?

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here.

I believe we have a similar technology. This functionality is called Backup Consolidation. It allows you to add incremental backups to the full one without creating a new backup.

You can set up automatic consolidation by specifying

  • a maximum number of backup versions
  • a maximum storage period for the backup files
  • a maximum backup size
