System does not boot after recovery from nonstop backup

Thread needs solution

If I restore my system from nonstop backup then it hangs in the boot process.
I waited for almost 30 minutes and nothing happened.
This occurs whether I use the partition restore or file restore.
I then have to go back to my latest full weekly backup which in some cases may be a 6 days old.
This is only the latest in a series of problems I have had with recoveries from True Image.
I am becoming really discouraged and am considering using another method.

[Wonder what chance there is of a refund :( ]

Hello Hairy Scot,

could you please add more detail to the issue description?

As far as I understood, system hangs while booting after each restore from Nonstop Backup, even if you are restoring separate files only. Is it correct?

Have you received any error messages during restore? Is a restore from simple backups successful?

Thank you.

Hi Anna,

That is correct.
If I restore my C drive (Windows partition) from Nonstop Backup then the system hags during reboot.
This occurs no matter which method I use.
I have tried full partition recovery as well as selecting all files and folders.
The restore completes and I see no error messages.
Result is the same either way.
There are no problems after restore from simple backup.

Is the recovery working from the recovery CD?

I get the same results regardless of how I start the recovery.
Tried from the app, tried via F11, and tried from the rescue disc.

Hello Hairy Scot,

yesterday we released Update 1 for Acronis True Image 2014.

Could you please download the latest build and check if the issue persists?

Thank you in advance!

Is there any risk that you have a file-based non-stop backup instead of a partition NSB?

YOu have a partition backup. Is there any partition above the C:\ partition that you did not include?

I have an F and a G partition which I have omitted because I do not wish to back up those partitions.
I'm not sure how that would cause any problems.
