What does the error "Failed to Renew the Certificate" message mean when hovering over the red "X" on the Acronis icon?

Hello spongybob1958 and Scott,
If you have 2014 version of the program, you just need to sign out from your Acronis account. Click on your email address in the right top corner of Acronis window and select Sign out. This will stop notifications about Acronis Cloud subscription.
spongybob1958, I see you have indicated you have Windows 10. Acronis True Image 2014 has not been tested with Windows 10 operating system and is not guaranteed to work with it, see program`s system requirements: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATIH2014/index.html#22603.html. You can purchase an upgrade to 2016 version which supports Windows 10 at http://www.acronis.com/en-us/personal/upgrade-backup/ (see right column that is for local backups).
Scott, If your question was about 2016 version and you were backing up to Cloud, you can force the program to re-download certificate file from the server this way:
1) make sure that no backups are running
2) sign out from your Acronis account and close Acronis window
3) rename the folder C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup to OnlineBackup.back, for example
4) open Acronis window, sign in, start online backup see if the issue is gone
If you do not use Cloud, you could either ignore the notification or sign out from your Acronis Account. Signing out will remove the error, but will require you to click on X on login prompt to close the dialog box every time you open the program.
Regards,
Slava
