Thread needs solution

Hello,

was looking through forums and searched internet and found only few similar cases but without any solution.
I am trying to backup system partition from working windows XP laptop. Geting strange error during locking disk c: phase:

================================================
Created: Wednesday, August 11, 2010 4:01:58 PM

Details: Operation with partition '2-0' was terminated.
Details:
File record is corrupted. (0x70019)
Tag = 0xEF8B1618A4C0DDBC

More information can be found at: http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode/
Event code: 0x000101F6

What record is corrupted? Which file? Can I check it somehow? My HD is perfectly valid and 100% healthy.

I was trying to find a solution. I even did partition backup from Boot CD and restored to another disk. Reinstalled Acronis and uninstalled a lot of programs without success. Backup from working system partition is simply not working. Backup from CD no problems.

Hello,

I also suffer from error "File record is corrupted. (0x70019)" with Tag = 0xEF8B1618A4C0DD9E

I installed a full version of ATI 2011 (German) on a XP Professional system. From there I created a boot-able rescue media.

With the bootable media, I made an image of a SATA drive, of a corrupted Vista system from an PC .
The created image validates without problem.

Now, I installed a new and empty drive on the PC of which I took the Image and try to Recover with the Image I made.
Immediately after starting, the Recovery is terminated with the error and Tag above.

The drive to which I want to recover is brand new. It is a SATA with 500GB capacity, identical to the Drive I imaged.

Strange is though, that during recovery set-up it reports
"free size before 8'589'935'592 TB" !
" volume size 0"
" Free size after 465.8GB"
Continuing from there, in the 'Summary for Volume recovery' it then says:
Drive letter C:>H
System NTFS
Size 445.8GB
Continuing from there will result in "Recovery failure".
In the LOG it reports 0x70019 with Tag = 0xEF8B1618A4C0DD9E

What am I doing wrong ? What else can I do.
Please help

Thank you

Hello willy wittwer,

Thank you for your message. I will do my best to assist you.

It is very likely that the recovery fails because of a corrupt image, which you mentioned you created from a corrupted Vista. Even though the image validated successfully, it does not guarantee 100% backup validity.

I can recommend a few workarounds:

1. If you need the data from the backup, you can try exploring the backup file on a machine which has Acronis True Image Home 2011 installed. Simply double click on the .tib file and you will be able to browse through it.

2. Try mounting the backup, there is a chance that it will fail, but if it does not, you can try performing a chkdsk /r on that virtual drive. After that, you can try recovering this backup.

3. Please check this extensive troubleshooting guide for corrupt backups.

Just in case, our bootable media displays different drive letters because of its Linux environment.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
