Task stops on "file in use" - don't see way to restart

Thread needs solution

I get a pop up notice that a task cannot complete because a file is not available (in use). I click on the pop-up, nothing happens. I open Acronis, look for the job, and it's calculating time remaining, which it does indefinitely, best I can tell. There doesn't seem to be an option to tell Acronis to ignore the file (which there is sometimes).

Since files are regularly going to be in use, what is supposed to happen, and what should I be doing differently?

Hi

Is it a task to a network drive?

I noticed similar behaviour from a task to a net storage. It started the task and after a short time no progresss ...ending in similar error message like yours.

I noticed that the corresponding mapped drive in windows could not be accessed anymore as well. Windows gave an error something like: same share can not be accessed from same person with different user names. Of course i checked that i did use same names in windows and acronis...

Well it was my third and most properly my last to use Ati2015

In this case it was not a network drive.

I'm backing down on the use of Acronis to just very simple, predictable jobs.

I'm going to give up on direct backup of network drives, and just backing up sync's of the network drives (using GoodSync).

I'll manually start the jobs at the end of the day when I know there will be no "file in use" conflicts.

I don't have confidence in anything that's slightly tricky. And confidence in the backup is 100% of the value.
