Terminated by user

Thread needs solution

Online backup is starting every 30 seconds. The log shows it analysing my partitions, but then the operation stops and the log shows Terminated by User. 30 seconds later it starts again.
It is slowing down my machine, without achieving anything useful. What can I do?
Windows 7 and TI Home 2010 build 7046
Thanks
Gerald

Hi Gerald, I assume you have not set it to run every thirty seconds but just check in the schedule after logging in to on line manually - could be a typo but sorry if I am assuming too much but you never know.

Hello,

bin, thanks for your help, I think you're correct.

Gerald, let me assist you. As bin suggested, most likely there's something wrong with Acronis Scheduler module that is used to manage all tasks in Acronis True Image.

I may recommend you to delete all tasks the following way:

  1. Download and extract the following archive:

  2. Run the script_fix.vbs file.

After that the issue should be fixed.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Still no solution. As soon as I boot the machine, ONline backup goes into this interminable cycle of starting itself every 30 seconds.
When I eventually get to look at the log I see that it has analyzed my partitions and then:
"Operation has been stopped"
"Terminated by user"

I bought this software after good reviews in PC Pro and because BT's Digital Vault was rubbish. Now this appears to be similarly rubbish.
I am almost at the point of asking for my money back so that I can buy something that does work. Which one of your competitors do you recommend?

Would you believe it? Online backup has started working ... I ran script_fix again for the nth time, and suddenly it appears to be OK.
I hope that this is the end of my problems, and that I can now get some work done
Thank you for your help so far.
Gerald

Yes. Continuing bad habits. I am extremely frustrated with this software and need a solution now.

Well at least you have speeded your software up. It is now starting and terminating every 20 seconds

Hello Gerald,

Thank you for reporting that the issue persists.

I sincerely regret you've faced this inconvenience. There can be several reasons for the issue, so in order to localise the issue please gather the following information:

  1. System Report
  2. Please create C:\Acronis\ folder and get the output of the below commands (from Start -> Run -> cmd):

    ping -n 50 storage3.acronis-hosting.com > C:\Acronis\ping.log

    tracert storage3.acronis-hosting.com > C:\Acronis\tracert.log

(get both ping.log and tracert.log files)

  3. The approximate time and date when the error occurred

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached or send this information to any of Forum Moderators. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

I get the exact same problem the scheduler will get into a loop were it terminates and restarts the online backup task every 20 seconds.
I have found that stopping and restarting the scheduler service (AcrSch2Svc) will stop the looping.

I have seen 2 situation that started the loop going but they do not cause the problem everytime (not reproducible)
1) Online backup was running and the scheduled time for a system backup became ready. The online back task was stopped and then it entered this 20 second restart loop
2) Online backup was running and I manually hit the Suspend button to stop the task. It said it was stopping and then entered this 20 second restart loop.

TI 2010 Build #7046 on W7

I did have the same problem recently with TI2010 where the on line backup restarted constantly. This behaviour seemed to begin after I had set up some other daily tasks. These tasks would start and complete ok and the online backup would continue but would restart as described above and even after it had completed its 'normal' work.

Again, as stated by Greg, the only way to stop it was to kill the scheduler process. Updating the scheduler and or zapping the jobs had no effect. I even restored a fresh XP SP3 system and installed TI2010 onto it, set it up as before and still the same thing happened.

Since then I have installed TI2011 and this works perfectly but I never did find out what the cause of the 2010 problem was.
