TEXT_LINEX_ERROR_COMMON_DIRECT_RW_FAILED (0x590001) SECTOR '...' while reading

Thread needs solution

Hello,

while trying to backup I get a dialog box with TEXT_LINEX_ERROR_COMMON_DIRECT_RW_FAILED (0x590001)
SECTOR '...' although I checked 'ignore errors' and 'silent mode' in the backup options. I'm using True Image Home 2010, build 5055.

When I click the 'ignore' Button, I get the same error for another sector. When I say 'Ignore All' the system freezes after some time completely. This happens with the XP Version and with the rescue system.

Any idea?

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
Rohri.

Hello Rohri,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

Please clarify do you receive the same error message when you perform the backup in Windows? If so then I would recommend you to check the disks for errors.

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If the issue still persists under Acronis bootable disc please download ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

Check the following article for more details.

I noticed you are not using the latest build.  You may want to update the build to the current 6053, I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date. Don’t forget to recreate the rescue media.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank You.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same error message while cloning a hard drive. Although I believe this was to be expected (as I suspect my hard drive has a few bad sectors), I would like to try a more recent bootable image of Acronis.
I own a copy of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and I cannot find that ISOLinux product under my account products. Can you please give me some instructions on how to download it?

Best regards,
Norberto
