Is ther any hope for TI 2012?
I have been an Acronis user since 2006. I have learned to accept the new release of any software will have an update. However since I purchased TI 2012 I am beginning to think that the 3rd version released will not work. The first and second release do not function properly.
1. The UI has been destroyed by a company whose goal is to dumb it down to the point on not being able to accomplish anything.
2. It cannot find drives. The earlier versions ( i.e. 2010 and 2011 ) work satisfactorily.
3. My system is an ASUS P6T with a 300mb Velociraptor partioned as 4 primaries.
DOS, XP, WIN 7, UBUNTU.
There is also an Adaptec raid card with 8 1tb drives. setup as 3 logical drives.
TI2012 only 'sees' the Win 7 partition and the drives on the Adaptec.
This also happens on my Lenovo T61 Laptop with a 750gb drive partitioned the same.
Both systems boot via Grub4Dos located in the first partition using FreeDos.
Both systems have been working properly for several years. TI2010 and TI2011 handle backing up and restorine each drive (partition) properly either from a rescue disk or Win 7 or XP.
TI2012 Cannot back up anything more than the Win 7 image.
A MAJOR STEP BACKWARDS. Effectively it does not do what it should.
Tried to utilize support vis CHAT. 1/2 hour waiting. I was sent a link to an ISO for a rescue disk. 277 mb. Thats a 5 hr download (for me on my lousy connection) No DSL, Satellite or Cable here. Verizon wireless. 5gb/month limit.
So I downloaded the trial, the update and now an ISO that I cannot install on my system.
Great customer service. (not)
I am at the point of just using Clonezilla and Gparted or trying some other commercial backup solution.
So, Gurus, is ther ANY hope for this situation? I doubt I am the only customer multi-booting. Acronis from my perspective has shot themselves in BOTH FEET!
