There is insufficient space in the recovery destination - TI 2014
I keep getting an error of "There is insufficient space in the recovery destination"
when trying to restore a backup. Had used it about 6 times before this error came up.
It has the same error with multiple drives. No other backup gives the same error.

1. Disk Image with partitions
2. Within Windows. Windows 10 x64
3. The restore is 30GB. The target disk is 250GB
4. I have made similar partition backups.

Ok, thanks for the further details, but is this the OS partition being restored?
How many partitions are included in the disk image? Screen shots of the contents plus one of the target drive would help.
What is on the target drive? (are there any existing partitions etc?)
It is not recommended to do OS partition restores from within Windows as this will require a restart into a temporary Linux OS environment to run ATIH, which in turn requires your boot configuration to be modified - this can lead to other issues if any problems arise that prevent ATIH from restoring the boot configuration.
For this reason, it is recommended to use the Acronis bootable Rescue Media or ASRM.

Further note: ATIH 2014 is not officially supported for use with Windows 10 - only 2015 or later are supported.
Also how are your drives connected in this restore environment?

1. 3 partitions
2. Nothing is on the target. Freshly formatted.
3. Drives are attached via USB 3 SATA dock. Drivers up to date.

What do you mean by "It has the same error with multiple drives. No other backup gives the same error." ?
What other backups do you have that you have tried, and are these being restored in exactly the same way?
Have you tried deleting any existing partition you have created on the target drive given you say it is freshly formatted?

1. I have other backups of partitions from different systems that restore to any drive as long as it has space.
2. I have a few different HDDs around with various amounts of space (250GB, 320GB, 500GB, 750GB) that when trying to restore it, it gives the abpve error.
3. There is only one partition on the formatted drive. I delete it, it goes RAW and Acronis wont see it.

Have you set a value for Free disk threshold when performing the restore operation?
See ATIH 2014 User Guide: Free disk space threshold
You may want to be notified when the free space on the backup storage becomes less than the specified threshold value. If after starting a backup Acronis True Image 2014 finds out that the free space in the selected backup location is already less than the specified value, the program will not begin the actual backup process and will immediately inform you by displaying an appropriate message. The message offers you three choices - to ignore it and proceed with the backup, to browse for another location for the backup or to cancel the backup.
If the free space becomes less than the specified value while the backup is being run, the program will display the same message and you will have to make the same decisions.
To set the free disk space threshold:
- Select the Show notification message on insufficient free disk space check box
- In the Size box, type or select a threshold value and select a unit of measure
Acronis True Image 2014 can monitor free space on the following storage devices:
- Local hard drives
- USB cards and drives
- Network shares (SMB/NFS)
