TI 11 and Vista/Windows 7
I have TI 11 installed on a 64-bit Vista syste,
I will be adding Win 7 to create a dula boot Vista/Win 7 system.
Running TI 11, when booted to the Vista system, will there be any problems doing an image backup/restore of the Win 7 drive?

We can also provide you 5% discount for Acronis True Image Home 2010.
That does not answer my question.
Obviously, I can purchase a newer version, or a competitor's product.

I have three OS partitions on my drive, XP + Xp + W7, one of the XP partitions is actually the active partition.
With 2009 installed on the XP partition, it quite happily imaged the W7 partition and was able to restore it.
I haven't tried it with TI11, but I don't see why as a pure image it should have a problem.
What might make a difference is if the W7 or Vista MBR has been created by either Vista or W7 rather than the Vista being an install over the top of an XP install. I don't see an imaging problem, but you might run into a problem on restore as TI11 possibly doesn't recognise the new sector starting point that MS introduced. Again though, this shouldn't be a problem unless you've had an SZ or T&D or the ASRM activated.

That's why I asked.
The failure of Acronis to directly answer my question makes me reluctant to buy their products.
Perhaps, they do not wish to admit that TI11 will do the deed.
Heck, if one does a sector by sector backup with ANY of the major backup programs, not to mention a backup with Linux, one should then be able to restore a partition no matter what the OS, n'est-ce pas?

It should work, especially if restored back to the same drive or to another drive as an Entire Disk Image. However, TI may try to be sneaky about operating systems it detects (or thinks it does) and mess around with booting fixes even if it's a sector-by-sector image (I haven't tested this).
I doubt Acronis is going to answer any "TI 11 / Windows 7" questions with anything other than it's not supported.

This is all OLD info and posts. Acronis Support is evasive about what OS's TI Home 11 supports. I don't know whether or not it will work with Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Acronis' failure to provide relevant information makes me reluctant to use your products any longer. I may have to look into alternative backup and restore products and find a vendor who is transparent and forthcoming about their products. This is extremely disappointing!

Howard,
Hello.... I have used TI-11 with Vista and it did a good job Then tried 2009... and it was a looser .... Now I'm now running Vista and Windows 7 \ 64 dual boot with TI 2010 V-7046..... It is all working, and wouldn't update to 2011 or even the latest update for 2010 (7154 ) If you can purchase 2010 (internet search) and stick at V-7046. The best reason for updating is that 2010 is that it's much faster doing backups and recoveries ( 7 minutes vs about 40 minutes for backup with validation ) comparing TI-11 to 2010. Good luck ....Regards Fred
