Hello all,

I'm sorry for the delayed response. Let me address this situation.

Unfortunately, Acronis True image 11 Home does not support Windows 7, since 11 version is very old and we do not develop it anymore. However, Windows 7 is supported by Acronis True Image Home 2010. If you've used Acronis True Image 11 Home in past, you can upgrade to the newest version for the reduced price. Also, please check this article for the detailed information about Windows 7 support in our products.

Also, please feel free to check the trial version to make sure that it works on your PC. The functional limitation of Acronis True Image trial version is that you can only use a software for 15 days. Windows version is fully functional  and it does not have any more limitations.
Bootable CD from trial version can be used for recovery only.

Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Best regards,

Craig & Orval,
I can assure you that TI 11 and the TI 11 update both work well on my Asus M4A785TD-EV0 Windows 7 machine, 64-bit. HOWEVER, despite what Alexander says above, the new TI 2010 DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.

So, yes, True Image 11 works - at least, it works on my 64-bit Windows 7 system. In fact, after I bought Acronis' TI 2010 (total waste of money), I had to use TI 11 and previously made backups to restore my hard drives to prior to installing TI 2010. Yes, they're both SATA drives.

I feel sorry that Acronis representatives are steering people down the wrong path by telling them that their new product is better, when, in fact, it's a piece of sh*t that doesn't work at all. Telling a customer that their older TI 11 won't work is a bald-faced lie. If I had a representative working for me who misinformed customers like that, he'd be fired.

Hello Jonathan,

Alexander was absolutely right, Acronis True Image 11 Home was not designed to run under Windows 7. The main Acronis drivers - SnapAPI will not be installed correctly into Windows 7's registry, therefore it may cause a serious damage to the file system. Moreover, the module that is responsible for mounting and exploring images also is not compatible with Windows 7, so you won't be able to mount images or see its contents.

Thank you.

Hi Alexander,
I have ATI 11 home version and windows 7...
how much cost ( in Euro) the upgrade to ATI 2010 for full support of Windows 7??

Tanks

Hello Roby53,

The standard upgrade price is €29.95. However, I can give you a discount. I have sent you a PM with a discount link.

Please reply to this thread is there will be any additional questions, I'll be glad to help.

Thank you.

Ilya,
My comments were, perhaps, a bit harsh regarding Alexander, although I still maintain that I am correct in my assessment of TI 11's working under 64-bit Windows 7. It works on my machine, an Asus M4A785TD-EV0 with two non-raid SATA drives. I have the latest bios installed, the latest chipset drivers, and the latest Nvidia graphics driver, as well as the updated TI 11. The drives are pretty much standard Samsung and Maxtor SATA drives, as I said, they're in non-RAID mode.

Quote from Ilya: Moreover, the module that is responsible for mounting and exploring images also is not compatible with Windows 7, so you won't be able to mount images or see its contents.

Uh, if that is so, why was I just able to mount, view, and dismount an incremental backup that I made with the updated TI 11 on this machine? Perhaps the update file for TI 11 allows mounting and exploring of images under 64-bit systems. Whatever the reason, it works, I am happy to report. TI 2010 refuses to work at all on this system, except to create images that can't be restored.
