Are you using the latest build of TI 11 (8,101)?

Do you get this error on every partition you try to backup or just one?

Can you successfully create a backup when booted to the TI CD?

Have you run chkdsk /r on the partitions to check for any errors?

Did you restart the computer after updating the driver?

Are you excluding any files/folders from the backup image? If so, does it work if you don't exclude anything?

- I will try tomorrow

- I have run chkdsk without error

- I did restart my computer

- I try without excluding and it doesnt work.

Hello,

MudCrab, thanks for your help.

PPPPP LLLLL, let me assist you.

I may recommend you to update Acronis SnapAPI drivers to overcome this issue:

  1. Download the .msi file from https://www.acronis.com/r/support/en/kb/995/SnapAPISetup.msi
  2. Run it and install the update.

You will need to reboot the machine to complete the update.

If the issue still persists after the update please collect Acronis Report and attach it to your reply to this thread.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

With chkdsk, i have got no error.

But TI run after booting from cd, detect some errors.

With the update of SnapAPi, i've got this message :

Failed to lock volume snapshot. (0x10C449)
Tag = 0x14181C22EF45AF29
Already locked (0x9)
code = E0000007)
Tag = 0xABF5B651C7D88E41</indent>"

You didn't say which build you're using. If it's not the latest (8,101) you may want to update it.

What error(s) are you getting when you try to run a backup when booted to TI from the CD? TI doesn't use the snapshot driver in the CD version. Perhaps the problem isn't specific to Windows or the snapshot driver.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using TI 11 build 8.107.

I re-tried the backup from the CD, it works. Even if i got errors on some sectors on the disk i backed up.

So, what should i do now ?

 Hello PPPPP LLLLL and  MudCrab!

Thank you for opening the thread regaridng this issue and many thanks to MudCrab for his assistance.

PPPPP LLLLL, I regret to inform you that Acronis True Image Home 11 is an outdated product: it's not developed, updated or supported anymore, so there's not much option we have.

As a workaround I would suggest you to remove the previous SnapAPI update and install the most recent one:
http://download.acronis.com/support/SnapAPI.337_s_e.msi

This should help to resolve the issue.

The best workaround here is to upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010. I would advise you to test the solution before making a decision: the trial version is full functional and has no limitations except

  • 15 days of work
  • trial bootable media can restore only

All the information regarding it's functionality is available in the User's Guide, so feel free to check it.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
