TI 2010 Backup error- the drive is not ready

TI 2010 (Build 6,029) has been working OK, but I’ve started getting an error during backup - "the drive is not ready". The drive itself is ready and working and I can browse and add content - however when I select ignore on the TI dialogue box that appears the error condition immediately reappears. The only way forward with this error is to cancel the backup and error now appears every time I do a backup. I haven’t been able to perform a backup for over a week now.
