TI 2010 Boot option with F11 is not compatible with OS Selector

Thread needs solution

I had installed OS-Selector and TI 2009. The possibility, to boot directly into TI via F11 was nicely integrated in OS Selector.

Now with TI 2010 there is a conflict between the 2 Acronis products. When choosing F11 from TI 2010, OS Selector does not work any more. After reactivating OS Selector, the F11 option of TI 2010 is deactivated. So both programs conflict in the way, they access the boot sector and are no longer compatible between each other.

When will you update the OS Selector to cooperate with new TI 2010 again ???

I don't know if this is of any help, but you might want to read about this method of changing the F11 to a different Fxx key.

Change F11 key in Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.

Thanks for your suggestions, but the "location" of the Fxx-key is not the problem.

The problem is the fact, that TI 2010 overrides the settings of OS Selector in the MBR, when the F11-option is enabled. So TI gets enabled and disables OS Selector.

When enabling OS Selector later again in Windows (XP), it disables the F11-option of TI. So OS Selector gets enabled and disables TI.

A nice way of cooperation between two Acronis products, indeed.

The Acronis stuff should know about this, maybee we get an answer here ??

Acronis just released a update to DD (build 2,239) a few days ago. It's not in the change log, but they may have modified it to work better with the later versions of TI. Have you tried it?

Some people have reported problems installing the update so it would be a good idea to make a backup before trying it.

I installed the update, but the old conflict remains the same. Sorry, but absolutely no change.
