I've been a TI user since version 6 or 7. I'm now running 2009 and have no issues whatsoever (read happy). I had pretty much decided to stay with 2009, but have received a few emails that have me pondering 2010. The latest is the addition of Plus with the upgrade to 2010. This is very tempting.

The problem is that I decided to check out the general consensus regarding 2010, and I find that there seem to be a few problems. I'm not really too concerned about the NSB issues, but how is the program overall? My OS is Win7 64 Ult. My concerns re4gard stability, backup creation and restore reliability, scheduling.

Do most here feel that the upgrade was worthwhile, or more trouble than it's worth?

I'm currently running ATI 2009 build 9809 on Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I perform full image backups and data file backups. Both restore just fine with the bootable media CD for build 9809. All of my backups are built on a network drive and are always accessible. Scheduling works fine in ATI 2009 under Windows 7.

I am also able to open Windows Explorer and open any of my backups. I can copy/paste any files/folders from those backups to any local or network drives.

Frankly, I don't know why anyone running ATI 2009 would want to upgrade to 2010 when 2009's basic backup/restore and scheduling is fully functional on Windows 7 platforms. Save your money and use it elsewhere. :)

I was of the same line of thought, but the offer of the TI 2010 upgrade price and the Plus pack (w/Universal Restore) thrown in is a worhtwhile purchase (assuming TI2010 is stable for most).

After spending very little time perusing this forum, it's clear that upgrading to 2010, at least at this time, would be a mistake. I thought there seemed an air of desperation in the Acronis email offers I've been receiving. Now I know why. Some have compared the recent Acronis path to that of Norton, which I kicked out the door over a decade ago.

I hope that Acronis doesn't wind up on the street with Norton (Symantec). I have formed a relationship with the product and really hate the thought of having to start the hunt for a new product once 2009 is no longer viable.
