TI 2010 freeze on recovery

Thread needs solution

I upgraded to TI 2010 last week.    When doing the recovery all works well until it tries to restart the PC,  at that point it will lock up.  First time I left it for about a half and manually shut down, came up with a MBR error 1 and an MBR error 2.  Managed to restore my drive, but LOST LOT's of data.   Tried another recovery,  same thing, the PC froze on restart/  This time let it sit an hour,  it was not about to restart.  shut down manually but this time I lucked out,   it came back up and the recovery had worked.

Any fix for this,   sure not going to try  my luck on recovery again till the problem is gone.

ALSO  anyone know where on the website you can actually chat or get the advanatage support that was paid for.

Thanks for your time

Allen

Were all of the restores started in Windows and TI then had to reboot?

The MBR errors sound like TI didn't boot up properly and so it didn't restore the previous MBR. This shouldn't have caused any data loss.

If the restore actually ran for a while, then you would definately have some problems if it didn't finish successfully.

Have you tried booting to the TI CD and doing the restore?

TI went though it's normal restore process, shut down to reboot and to go into restore, as always.  Restore went perfectly normal until the end , received regular message restore was complete successfully,  and then TI  will freeze on reboot

.  Still waiting for a reply from Acronis,  good thing I paid for thier advantage plan,  2-days an no reply yet;)

Do you have the ASRM activated?

When TI has to reboot, it boots into the Linux-based version to do the restore. This is the same version as the Full Mode version on the TI CD. If the version from the CD doesn't work properly, the reboot version won't either. This is why I asked if you had tried the restore from the CD. If it has problems, there are parameters you can try.

If you boot to the TI CD and start TI, can it successfully validate the image?
