TI 2011 - CAnot send email notifcation on Verizon.net

Thread needs solution

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I have discovered some strange behavior using Wireshark packet sniffer. WHen I set up email notification under drive backup operations options, the first time I set it up it works. Any subsequent attempt to send a test email fails. Using the sniffer I can see what is happening. I am sending email to third part account via outgoing.verizon.net. (verizon blocks port 25 for all except verizon) Apparently TI is attempting to logon to the POP server of the email adressee using the username and password of the smtp account. Obviously this does not work. If I reset the values and re-enter the information I can test email once then it fails.

Here is the STRANGE one. WHen I set up notification under file backup options, it works every time without fail. I am suspecting a BUG here.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Steve

I am the "blind leading the blind" but here is what I am using with TI Home 2010. My internet service is Verizon.net.
smpt.gmail.com - 465
pop.gmail.com - 101

Hope that helps... Ron

What works for me with email notification.
Verizon is my internet provider and is used to send the email

The TO: can be whoever-wherever
Server Settings
SMTP.VERIZON.NET
Port 465
Encryption=SSL
Use verizon user user name without the @verizon.
Enter verizon password

Test message should work and I receive notification of completed backups.
