TI 2011 cleanup utility used; now get unmountable boot image
Was trying to install TI 2012 and it was failing. Tried to remove TI 2011 through Control Panel but it failed. Downloaded 2011 cleanup utility, ran it, and edit registry as recommended. Now PC won't boot. Get 'Unmountable Boot Image'. Can't get in through Recovery Console on PC or on boot CD. Totally screwed. Need to get to point to be able to run chkdsk /r and fixmbr but can't get there. Even tried ntfsfix on Ubuntu but it fails.
Any ideas from anyone?

Yes, Pat, that is what I assumed. But the problem is that I can't get to the Recovery Console to run fixmbr. I was wondering if anyone had experienced a similar problem with the cleanup tool and had any other means of fixing the MBR.

You could boot into the Windows installation DVD and run a command prompt from there.
Alternatively, maybe you could restore your MBR from some older backup when the system was working...
