Ti 2011 won't store Validate selection in backup Settings

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded to TI2011 and when attempting to set default settings for backups it won't retain the validate option. The only other option I changed is the file splitting option and it works. Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks

I've experienced that as well with build 5105. Very irritating, since I consider backup validation mandatory. Another problem that never should have gotten past QA.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your posts. I will do my best to assist you.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. It seems to be an issue with our software. We have successfully reproduced it in our testing lab. As soon as I have any relevant information, I will let you know.

As a workaround, please provide validation setting for each backup task.

If you need additional help, please let me know.

Thank you.

actually in the backup scheme custom, options are saved intermittently or ignored. Everything in 'backup scheme - turn on automatic cleanup' is reset if you choose the advanced tab and then hit ok. The schedule options are not saved or the options do what every they want and not what is checked. You need to go through the whole interface because it is a mess.

No answer from Acronis moderator ???
Is this problem solved in next release ???
Thanks for your answer

Hello all,

Thank you very much for posting.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay but I will definitely help you.

I have checked our internal tracking system and the fix for this issue will be available in Update 1. At the moment, Update 0.5 has the build number of 5519.

Unfortunately I do not have release dates for Update 1, but you can always subscribe to our newsletter to receive update notifications.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

You can also add hitting ok in the notification tab will reset automatic cleanup. Well, I only wasted 3 hours trying to figure that out (and the weird file names).

I'm currently using the 30 Day Trial on Win7HP64bit and have unfortunately encountered exactly this problem. (I'm on build 5519) I see that Anton (Acronis Rep) suggested that there is a fix in the pipeline, but that was five weeks ago already. Is there an update on that? I'm withholding decision on purchasing a few licenses of this program until this is fixed. Note that I've used Symantec BESR in the past and did not encounter such issues. So far I generally like TI but the fact that its taking so long to resolve a pretty crucial problem (cannot set validation on, nor properly schedule backups) is discouraging. An update would be appreciated. Thanks.

TrueImage 2011 Build 6597 still has the same bug - do these guys actually test their software or are we all beta testers!

Hello all,

Thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this issue.

The problem with the validation option has been resolved in the latest build of our software. I tried reproducing it on my virtual machine and everything is working.

Steve, we will need to investigate this problem. I would really appreciate if you can collect the following information and contact our Support team so that we can resolve this issue for you:

1. Exact steps that you performed to create the backup.

2. Screenshots of the backup options menu.

3. AcronisInfo report.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Here's the low down

I installed ATI Home 2011 build 6597 successfully on a Win 7 Ultimate 32bit PC with Plus Pack 6957. I go into "Disk Back Up Options" and under Validation set "No Schedule" and then tick the checkbox "Save Settings as Default"...... It doesn't.....

If I then create a brand new backup it is "still" set with the option "once a month validation" and not "No Schedule" as it should be.

I'm sorry it doesn't do this for you but I suspect I am not alone - let's see.

Can anyone else vouch for this behaviour with ATI Home 2011 build 6957 on Win 7 32bit ????
