TI 2013 - Error Occurred when creating file - network share or unc

Thread needs solution

I've been backing up to a network share for years using TI 2013. Then I upgraded both the TI machine and sever to w10. A few days after this upgrade, started getting error ocuured when creating file. So I don't know if this error is related to w10 or not. I've tried creating an entirely new backup task and get the same error. I've set the destination by either browsing to the location or specifying the unc as \\server\share. Have edited credientials and tested them with success.

okay, I tired t1 2015 to see if my problem had been fixed in the newer version. still broken in ti 2015. so i opened a support chat. they want me to try it with ti 2016. But I have an unopened ti 2015 that I will open if Acronis can show me that my problem has been fixed. in the interim, i'm going to install 2016 trial and see if that works. also asked if acronis will provide me free upgarde for my ti 2015 to ti 2106 since they don't want to help me with ti 2015.

After some back and forths with Acronis support, I ended up finding a workaround myself. I accessed the network share by using it's ip address. TI 2016 hasn't fixed the issue, so I'm staying with TI 2013. Other then this issue, it works fine with Windows 10. And TI 2016 is a downgrade from the functionality of TI 2013.  After briefly using TI 2016, found these problems

The ability to include @task run number@ in the file name. this allowed a sort by file name to be in chronological order even when full, diif, or incr was part of the file name.

No longer able to access the logfile via TI 2016.

Documentation indicates I have the option to indicate where the system report is saved. This isn't true, I had to search to find where the report was saved.

Email notifications to gmail indicate Acronis is an insecure app. Requires lowering gmail security in order to receive TI notifications.
