TI 2013 .tib blue icon has gold padlock overlay - what's the meaning of padlock overlay vrs no overlay?

Thread needs solution

I noticed that TI v2013 (and even v2017) ...after you save an image, it's blue .tib icons have a little gold padlock overlay on them, but, I see all my older .tibs that I created with earlier versions of TI do Not have a gold padlock overlay on the same blue icon..

For instance:

 TIBiconPadlockOverlay.jpg

What does the gold padlock icon mean?

I did not add any passwords or anything else on these, and I can mount/explore/restore them all just fine. fwiw, always use full backups and never incremental

Rick, from what I have read from doing a google search, this is a Windows sharing / security issue and nothing concerning ATI (any version).

See webpage: How do I remove padlock icon from all my files? which has a number of suggestions to offer - see those near the end of the thread of replies.

Hi Steve,

Okay yes I see you are right.

Playing around in a few different ways for a minute, I can take that same tib that has the padlock and copy it to my local HD and it's gone, but the one on the USB drive still has it, so which then I right clicked Properties on that one, clicked the Security tab, and see it was a little different; I change it to Everyone, and refreshed, and the gold padlock went away, etc.

So what causes it here in the first place depends sometimes of what drive I save the image on, and how ..which boot stick I might use I have many, or live from TI in Windows, or if off the on-board PCI to a local HD, or if it's off the USB 3 to my other drives, etc, etc..

Okay, no problem, not worth anymore time and it's no big deal at all then one way or the other, and now I know.

Thank you!

Rick, thanks for the update and glad that you have got an explanation for the padlock.
