TI 2014 and cleanup problem

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have seen many entries with a similar problem but for earlier versions. It would appear that some of the earlier incremental backups in my chain were inadvertently permanently deleted so my consolidation is no longer working. I create a full backup every 7 incrementals, so I tried to delete the earlier chains hoping the cleanup would resume from the last full backup..( I also moved the full backups to an "archive " folder But unfortunately, it is still looking for the earlier versions.

In earlier versions, the solution (rather cumbersome!) was that one had to create a new backup task and place it in a different folder.. is this still the only "solution" ? or would deleting or moving any backups to a different folder work? Does this confuse the database??

Thanks in advance

Your problem is much like this link. All that I have written there is applicable to your posting.

My suggestion would be to start fresh by deleting the history file and that deletion will include all your tasks but will not delete any of your tib backup files.

GH55. Delete Database History Archives.xml.
GH55A. Acronis servicesCreate Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is user choice.

GH56. Easy way to find posting by yourself or others.
GH57. Assorted task features.
GH58. Difference between Partition Mode & Select Disk Mode backups.

Any new task should point to its own unique empty storage folder.
Any deletion of tib backup files from an active task must be deleted using the program delete .
Don't make configuration changes to an active in use task. If changes needed, start a new task pointing to a new unique empty folder.
